Manly Beach is a pretty good option if you want to avoid the teeming crowd of Bondi Beach. It’s a quick lovely cruise from Sydney dock towards the city, and you’ll get spectacular views of the Opera House, Darling Harbour and the beautiful coasts.
The trip from the main ferry terminal, Circular Quay is a breeze… and the Manly ferry drop-off is an easy walk towards the beach. Having a leisure walk around will lead you to streets bursting with cafes, fish n chips stores, food stalls, souvenir shops, hotels and apartments facing the beach. It actually feels California…with palm trees on the boulevards.
You can grab pizza or any takeaway and watch people, kids and families enjoying the beach or playing volleyball, or visit souvenir shops for collectibles and gifts. An ice cream while exploring around by foot, is a good idea too.
The golden sand, clean beach and rolling waves… enough reasons for surfers to flux in here with the beachgoers. In our time, the water was cold so we just grabbed a snack, sat on the beachfront, enjoyed the scenery and waited for sundown.
The promenade is also clad with different restaurants, so you’ll dine with magnificent views. It’s just a tiny cove, sitting so close to Sydney’s harbour. Perfect place to just chill out on a free day.
The daytrip became such a lovely cruise at the humble, little Manly with picturesque captures of the busy Sydney.
Include Manly Beach in your Sydney itinerary, looking at the photos when you’re already back home, won’t fail to make you smile.
